First Wawasan Brunei 2035 Supreme Council Meeting for 2025
29 April 2025 – The Wawasan Brunei 2035 Supreme Council (MTWB 2035) meeting, among other matters, discussed the updating of the Wawasan Brunei 2035 Framework so that it is more inclusive of current issues and the challenges being faced and yet to come.
The update aims to ensure that policy planning and implementation remain relevant and in step with changes in the socio-economic landscape, whether at the national, regional or global level.
His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, graciously consented to chair the First MTWB 2035 Meeting for 2025, held at Istana Nurul Iman.
Also in attendance was the son of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, namely His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, as Deputy Chairman of MTWB 2035.
The meeting commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat by the Minister of Religious Affairs, Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman.
At the meeting, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam also graciously consented to deliver the Titah.
MTWB 2035 continues to serve as the nation's highest platform in coordinating, guiding and monitoring the progress of Wawasan Brunei 2035 implementation towards shaping a distinguished, sustainable and resilient future for Negara Brunei Darussalam.
